How to Have Tough Conversations

(Without Losing Sleep… )

Are you losing sleep because you don’t know how your brain handles conflict?

Have you missed out on a raise because you haven’t been able to ask for one? Have you received an unfair performance review that you could not challenge back? Have you procrastinated having tough conversations because they are uncomfortable? Have you not dealt with things at work because you don’t know how to start talking about them?

The key to having more sanity, peace and harmony in your work and life isn’t work-life balance or some mythical balance of the number of hours you work. Instead, it is the ability to lean in and have those hard-to-have conversations unflinchingly and courageously.

So, how do we move ahead? How can we embrace having those tough conversations? How can we dissolve that knot of anxiety in our stomachs ahead of that hard conversation?

saner work life unpacks why we avoid tough conversations & conflicts

Our brains are hardwired to avoid conflict and uncertainty. This is evolutionary and hasn’t changed in tens and thousands of years.

Imagine being able to change the way your brain responds to “Come, let’s talk” with positive anticipation. Imagine staying cool, calm and collected while having that hard-to-have conversation. Imagine walking out of the discussion with a win-win that enriches both of you instead of a “win-lose” or a “lose-win” paradigm.

So come with me on this whacky and wild adventure in the world of conflicts, conversations and curiosity. Within this website, you’ll get information and resources along with coaching on having tough conversations without losing your sleep!

what’s the catch?

Why do I share so much valuable information for free on this website and through the Being Sane Newsletter. My answer is simple. I’ve learned so much from 18 years of working in the corporate world, in various companies and with people across different cultures.

In the work that I do and enjoy, which is writing and coaching, this is my way of paying forward all the experiences, learning and support I have received throughout my career.

Additionally, as a coach, I offer a non-judgemental space to the client, where they are the centre of my focus and attention. I am invested in seeing them succeed and have more sanity in their lives. So, as part of my commitment to their lifelong success, I make this information available freely here so that they can access the resources, tools and approaches needed to help them stay on their chosen path.

This is why the Being Sane Newsletter will be highly comprehensive – and always free. I have my coaching services and other products, which will be released gradually that you may like to invest in to increase your knowledge, but the Being Sane Newsletter will always be FREE.

If you aren’t sure, you can check out some articles here. This will alleviate your uncertainty of having to subscribe to yet another newsletter!
